Social Monkee Review

What Is Social Monkee?

Social Monkee

Social Monkee is one of the few totally free backlink builders that actually works well. The service will automatically build backlinks by submitting your content a wide variety of social bookmarking sites all over the web.  I have found the service effective and recommend it highly.

Developed by one of my favorite internet marketers Colin Klinkert, Social Monkee lets you quickly and easily create 25 FREE backlinks every day.  Over a period of a month this adds up to over 750 backlinks – all for free. If you upgrade to the premium version this number increases to 9,000 backlinks every month, for life!

Social Monkee has also developed a Firefox plugin that allows you to submit your content to social bookmarking sites quickly and easily from one source.

Social Monkee Free Account

For anyone looking for a free backlinking system that is about as easy as it gets, Social Monkee couldn’t be easier. As a free member you will have the ability to submit one URL for backlinking once per day. In all, SocialMonkee will give you 25 backlinks from it’s own private network of more than 100 sites. That’s a total of 175 backlinks every week, 750 each month.

Their service allows for spinnable content, which keeps duplicate information from being posted across thousands of social bookmarking accounts and possibly incurring search engine penalties to your site(s). As a free, easy to use option Social Monkee can be a great tool to combine with your other backlinking methods.

Social Monkee Premium Account

If you want to go beyond the free 25 unique backlinks per day, you will need to upgrade to a Premium or Elite account. As a Premium member, you can submit 3 URLs to 100 sites everyday – that’s a total of 2,100 backlinks every week, 9,000 every month!

As I try to avoid any services that that require me to sign up for a monthly subscription, a Social Monkee premium account is available for a reasonable one-time payment of $47. However, you can also be automatically upgraded to premium status if you refer 12 persons that sign up for a free account. With a premium account you will have access to a free link report and an RSS feed of all of your backlinks to get them indexed faster.

Social Monkee Elite Account

With a Social Monkee Elite account you will have the ability to get 150 backlinks 3 times daily, Auto-Pinging of your backlinks, and the ability to schedule Up to 45 Submissions at once. That’s up to 2 weeks worth of daily submissions! Elite members also are able to earn 40% commissions on all Elite Referrals through Clickbank.

Quick Recap

  • Premium Account allows you to build 300 backlinks EVERY DAY
  • Sites are on UNIQUE C-Class IP addresses/domains

Closing Thoughts

We all know that creating a variety of different kinds of backlinks is the key to an effective overall backlinking strategy. Social Monkee allows you to create 25 backlinks to your website for free, every day. When upgrading to a Premium account, it’s only onetime payment of $47 (or refer 12 people) and you’ll be able to get an impressive 100 backlinks to 3 URLs a day.

One of the features about Social Monkee that I particularly like ithat they provide RSS feeds of all the links they build for you.  You can then take these feeds and regularly ping them to the RSS aggregator sites.

I’ve also found that Social Monkee especially helpful for quickly firing off a large number of backlinks to your Web 2.0 properties including Hubpages, EZineArticles, Squidoo Lenses, etc.

I tried the free service for one of my HubPages accounts just to see if it would give me any boost in search engine rankings. So far it hasn’t changed either way.

I checked my stats to see some the sites that SM posted links to. They are all bookmarking sites with no ads, little content, and a very minimal design. I’ve never heard of any of them before and I somewhat doubt that posting tons of links on such sites will help anybody’s ranking. Some of these sites may even be sandboxed by Google since I couldn’t even find them in a web search.

Anyway, your post has some great information for people looking to try the free version, and I sincerely hope that the service is working for you and continues to help your websites.

As I use a number of link building tools and services (and usually all at the same time) I agree that it is hard to judge the actual ranking boost that using Social Monkee may or may not give.

However, given that it’s a free service (or a one-time payment for the upgrade) and only takes a couple of minutes to do, I feel it’s well worth the time and effort.

The way that I actually see results on a consistent basis is in getting new content and (other backlinks) indexed. I’ve seen Social Monkee bookmarks get indexed within minutes by Google, and the content that I’ve linked to in those bookmarks is usually indexed shortly after that.

So, I think the true value of Social Monkee and most social bookmarking services and tools in general is for helping new content get indexed quickly.
